The Blue Whale is the largest animal that ever lived and can grow up to 90 feet and weigh as much as 24 elephants! That’s more than 330,000 pounds.
Wait 24 Elephants, that is some serious tub space.
I’m not good at math, but i’m guessing he won’t even fit into my backyard Swimming pool… If you haven’t decided if you want your cute new pet of a whale sleeping on the first or second floor, lets see if we can find a smaller Whale!
Ah yes, Here we go, The Dwarf Sperm Whale. When fully grown this whale measures in at around 9 feet long and can weigh between 400 – 600 pounds. Now we are talking, 9 Feet isn’t so bad! Now I’m sure I can find space for him.
Lets see, the Typical Dwarf Sperm Whale usually swims alone and feed on squid and crabs. Good I don’t need to get George a friend, Yes I named my future whale George.
But, I don’t think I can just go the Grocery store and buy a bunch of crab and squid or can I? Well maybe enough for a day or two, but I’m sure they will surly run out!
Well it looks like I need to catch a bunch of Giant squid as they are 80% of Georges diet. Giant squid live between 1000 and 2000 feet down in the ocean. Maybe I can attach a couple straws to the end of my snorkeler and make it that far down. Like I said, I’m not very good at math.
Sperm whales can live up to 22 years old. Oh my, think of all those vet Bills!
Ugh, George your too high maintenance for me, but I promise to visit you in the ocean. Plus I don’t think my dogs would appreciate being bullied out of the water.
